FAQ
-
Q1. Does the seismic earthquake sensor operate even with non-earthquake vibration?.
Our seismic earthquake sensor has characteristics that it rarely operates with non-earthquake vibrations.
-
Q2. Does the seismic earthquake sensor function during a power outage?
The mechanical type functions, but the electronic type does not.
A power supply is required for the electronic type.
However, the mechanical type also requires power for remote reset. -
Q3. What is the output signal of the seismic earthquake sensor?
For both mechanical and electronic types, the output signal from the seismic sensor is a non-voltage contact (ON / OFF) output.
-
Q4. What is the difference between P-wave and S-wave seismic earthquake sensors?
P-wave and S-wave seismic earthquake sensors detect different seismic motions.
For details, please refer to "P-wave and S-wave". -
Q5. Where should a seismic earthquake sensor be installed?
To avoid malfunction, you should install it in a place where there is no vibration.
P-wave seismic earthquake sensor and P&S-wave seismic earthquake sensor should be installed on the ground level or below of the building. -
Q6. Regarding the detection direction of the seismic earthquake sensor, what is the difference between the horizontal direction and the vertical direction?
The horizontal direction detects the S-wave and the vertical direction detects the P-wave.
-
Q7. What are the important points when purchasing a seismic earthquake sensor?
1. Select the model based on the installation location and purpose.
2. Decide the number (from 1 to 3) of setting values and the each setting value (Gal).
3. For mechanical models with the remote reset function, determine the remote reset voltage.
4. When an electronic type is selected, determine the power supply voltage (AC100, DC24 or DC48). -
Q8. Is it possible to control the elevator or other operation directly with a seismic earthquake sensor?
It is impossible. The seismic earthquake sensor is a machine that sends a signal to the elevator or other operation control circuit and does not control the operation directly.
