Q 1  Do the seismic sensors operate with vibration made by besides earthquake?
   A. The sensors have a characteristic not to operate easily with vibration besides earthquake.
Q 2  Do the seismic sensors operate during the power supply failure?
   A. While the mechanical type operates regardless of power failure, the electronic type does not
       operate under power failure.
The electric type needs power supply.
Q 3  How often we inspect the seismic sensor?
We recommend you to inspect one or more times a year. (It is mentioned on the operation manual)
Q 4  How many years do seismic sensors have their operating lives?
   A. Both of mechanical type and electric type have ten years lives.
Q 5  How can we choose a good one from many kinds of types?
   A. The models are chosen to get enough sensing level (performance) of seismic sensors to meet
the standards limited by each industrial field.
Please refer to the product& How to use page. ⇒ How to use
If you have any inquires please contact us. ⇒ Inquiry
Q 6  What kind of output signal do seismic sensors send?
   A. The output signal of both of the mechanical type and electric type make dry contact (ON/OFF).
Q 7  What is the difference between P-wave and S-wave seismic sensor?
   A. One sensor detects own kind of vibration among earthquake waves.
Please refer to the Primary wave and Secondary wave page for details.
                                                                                                               ⇒P-wave and S-wave
Q 8  What kind of place is proper to be installed?
   A. Please set up at the place without daily vibration to avoid the malfunction.
※ Please set up the p-wave or P+S seismic sensors on the ground level or below.
Q 9  There are horizontal and vertical in the sensing direction. Please teach the differences.
   A. While horizontal direction sensing is for S-wave, vertical direction is for P-wave.
                                                                                                                    ⇒P-wave and S-wave
Q10  What is the function of remote reset and automatic reset?
   A. The sensor will be automatically reset at preset time (from 10 to 60 sec.) after the sensor
         detects earthquake.
The seismic sensor is reset by the controller without direct treating after working.
Q11  What kind of points do we have to consider when we order the seismic sensor?
   A. Please choose the model after referring to the page of USES. ⇒ How to use
         1)  Selection of model: please select the model after referring the page of How to use.
         2)  Setting stages
                    1-Stage setting: One value
2-Stage setting: Two values setting is possible.
3- Stage setting: Three values setting is possible.
         3)  Setting gal value: Please decide the gal value after referring to the Japanese seismic
               intensity scale and acceleration table.
⇒ Japanese seismic intensity scale and acceleration table
         4)  Remote reset voltage (remote reset built-in model only)
         5)  Decide the voltage of power source (electronic type only)(AC100V or DC24V)
         6)  Water proof or not. (V-012P only)
※ When you have some requests, please contact us.                                              ⇒ Inquiry
Q12  Is the sensor possible to control elevators directly?
   A. No, it can’t control the elevator directly. It does control via the circuit of the elevator control side.
Q13  There are many kinds of seismic sensors for elevators. How can we choose applicable
           standards among them?
   A.  Please decide the seismic sensor by the height, earthquake resistance, and so on of the
buildings where the sensor will be installed..
